Her
karate career started somewhat by accident.
Her daughter, Hannah, started
karate and wanted someone to go with. So, the rest is history.
After starting as a white belt,
helping with most classes, she quickly learned her art.
After
intense daily training, Cheryl was awarded her Interim 1st Degree Black Belt
by a Japanese Master in October 2005.
While continuing to train hard
and teach, Cheryl polished her technique and in August of 2007 was awarded
her 2nd
Degree Black Belt from Master Ishihara, the 9th
Degree Black Belt who is the head of Shoseikan and lives in
Japan.
Cheryl
is now in charge of membership for the Mountain Martial Arts School. She
also oversees the children’s training program from the hombo (head) dojo.
Cheryl’s
time and dedication has been vital to the success of our school. Her energy
is
geared toward the students goals and achievements.
